Always the answer is Creativity. For It comes from the Muse. And the Muse is the Soul. So the Higher the Creativity, the more we become Aware of our Souls, of our Deep Unconscious of Pure, Pure Love, our Buddha-Nature, the Kingdom of God within us, And to Know this Enlightenment is to be, at last, Truly Healed .

Dr. Diamond on Painting

All that matters to me as a healer is whether the art has healing power – and if it does, to what extent. How much does it actuate the innate healing power that we all possess? For I believe that the basic purpose of art always was, and still should be, to heal.

Healing is not merely treatment, or even therapy. It goes so much deeper. It is basically concerned with overcoming the anguish of the human condition, the Buddha’s First Noble Truth. And to do so it must help to make us whole (the original and still truest meaning of heal). Whole with our Deepest Self, our Godliness, our Soul, the Spirit that is us.

Healing art is, as the ancient Chinese believed, “a wedding of spirit and matter.” And we are spirit and matter. The role of the artist-healer, of the healer as artist, is to so reveal this Basic Truth to us that we are at last whole. Healed.

For him to do this for us, his art must come, minimally distorted, from his Spirit, his Deepest Self. He must first have found his Spirit, must Know that he is a wedding of spirit and matter – and so are we all.

The way to this Knowledge is through meditation. In this state of Action Meditation his art will proclaim that it, that he, that every one of us, is a wedding of spirit and matter.
